XP- explorer has encountered a problem error

Please help, it's driving me nuts!

Seems a lot of people have this issue. The best answer i have seen is to start your pc in safe mode and see if that fixes it. If it does, then you need to go into msconfig and untick some of the stuff that starts up, to eliminate whats causing the problem. You might be able to do a restore point if you have set one up and its only just started happening.

I have just done a re-format and fresh install of XP and it still happens.
Guess XP and my old PC might finally be giving in!
