Computer melt down

Well it's the computer or me !! I tried to put a fresh install of windows 8 today and it bombed, no biggie eh ?? Well now no matter what I do even take the hard drive out and totally format it neither windows 7 or 8 will install coz there isn't enough room on the blank 500 giger !! Wtf ???

Ideas other than a rather big hammer accepted x

Stick it in another PC as secondary drive and look at the partitions.

Download gparted live and check the drive then remove any partitions found. Formatting doesn't blank the drive, I suspect it has a screwed up track.

Well I put it in a caddy and did a full format took all friggin day !! I'll try that software as it's vino time and the hammer becomes a much better option then x

What partitions are shown on the disk in disk manager?

Might be trying to install to hidden recovery partition or something daft.

Does it show as the expected size?

Not one of these spoofs with a little flash drive somewhere on it is it? You've used it before?

It's a westy 500 gig it's says size and free size the same ?? There's other drives in the tower maybe disconnect them ?? It's always just accepted everything in past though there's no real change apart from I tried windows 8 lol which worked fine on my lappy I must add x

Try running another installer on it first. Win7 maybe?

Yeah I did Hahahahahahaha I'm gonna get mashed now then unplug everything tomorrow and have another gander x

Personally would boot off a Linux USB key and take a look at it.

Got hard drive in caddy and it all looks fine, windows chkdsk cool too ??

If this happens to anybody else, you can clear all the partitions on this screen by using the delete option then select "new" to install your windows
