Windows 8 refresh

Does anyone know how i can restart my windows without all the junk on it? Theres so much crap installed from when i bought it. I tried downloading a copy but said my code wasnt correct for the copy i had? Also got a so called gaming laptop with dedicated graphics card but the games always run on the intel hd integrated card? Ive tried selecting on the nvidea control but some games onky show the intel so cant select it. Was thinking a refresh would help?

If it came with windows 8, it'll have the recovery function. Your key on the sticker will be for a OEM version - u may have downloaded a retail or VLK version of windows 8 that your key wont match.

If u want to recover it to how u got it, hold SHIFT as u select restart and it will give u options to recover back to factory settings. Then just uninstall all the bloat ware that comes with it

Hi it was retail i downloaded. I dont have the key on the sticker i got it from installing some bencmark software. I will try what you said tho thanks.

i found a handy (free) prog called 'decrap my computer'- run it & it lists all the bloatware, you can delete what you want. I don't know if it'll run on W8 (yet) but worth a look. Piriform's Ccleaner has a similar function but not quite as brutal.
