Microsoft to turn off Windows Messenger on 15 March

yeah they did something to my account , fookin lost every single contact i had, had to start from scratch, tried everything to recover my email addresses. somehow they all just got deleted, no backups or nothing..fookin wankers..!

well its funny you should say that
I have noticed contacts missing from mine, some I can see via ebuddy but not on messenger on laptop

Good as its a nasty little thing
i never have any contacts in mine as they are all thick and end up getting hacked and sending out virus`s to people in their contacts.

It was ok when it first came out, nice and simple small didn,t take any space or CPU time, then it just went stupid miles to much cr@p into it.

Hate Skype..

Surprised they are still keeping Lync going then..

Windows Messenger was never that great imo. Skype is the best thing going, but I don't like it very much either.

Just use Pidgin instead,its more like Mesenger used to be,no bloatware

did use messenger a little just to contact a few mates, didnt bother to reinstall it after formatting my last time and hearing its was getting scrapped.


Cant be arsed installing skype, ill just use the phone instead - free mins anyway.

I used MSN when it very first came out and used it for a couple of years and worked really well for me but as mentioned it just started to get to bloated and then I didn't bother installing it after a rebuild of my pc and never missed it.

I better back up my women friends addresses quick then lol will take a look at this pidgin because I hate skype !!!

same here..heard about pidgin may try that..but skype doesnt import my conatcts from WLM....

mine just did on win8 with skype , seems ok

im using windows 7 , seems to be a common problem...with skype

i tried pidgin but couldn't work out how to pull in my messenger contacts

You just need to add your msn account to it m8 and it should work straight away
