just dug out the old megadrive and n64, some classic games (zelda, sonic, goldeneye etc) sheer class theres nothing better than using the original consoles and controllers compared to emus, was up half the night with a few beers:Cheers:.
Time to hit ebay and get a nes and snes:proud:

wow sounded great,
I bet the ole speccy isn't as much fun as I remember though,
Problem was the 5 minute wait for games to load

Agree with the bit about using the original controllers, i bought a usb adapter for the n64 controller online so i could use it with the emulator. Makes all the difference plus i've gotall the games to choose from:banana:

You can't beat the ZX81 ..... no sound, great graphics and amazing loading speed

Oh and the memory to do virtually anything, all in 1K

Actually there was a way to get sound from a ZX81, IIRC you had to detune the RF input on your TV, then using some clever code on the zx81 you could tune the output. lol

Bombjack on the Spectrum was awesome, one of he few games I prefered to play on the Spectrum rather than the C64 - the C64 version was too fast.

Some of the best games of all time listed there....I know the online thing has exploded nowadays but imo back then was when gaming was at it's apex in terms of gameplay because at that point in time that's where all the focus was. Btw m8 did you know you can get n64 pads converted to work on a PC via a specific adapter to usb wire ? I think the whole thing comes as one it's called an Adaptoid. You can get the same for PSX too because I have one on me lol. Not sure about megadrive and snes though...would be nice....and if you have any emu questions I did write a faq on another site that I'm now banned from that was stickied straight away but I think they took it down after my ban lol.

played lemming for hours on amiga.
My fav megadrive game was -dessert strike, com 64-hyper sports and leaderboard, speccy was manic miner and all time fav was cannon fodder for Amiga and sensi soccer

diddnt think much of dessert strike, but was allways playing lemming :)

the problem with modern games is the gameplay. my old favourite was 'thing on a spring' on the C64 and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Awesome gameplay. every game released now is a first person shooter.

yeah i remeber me amiga 500 with lemmings and cannon fodder i cant seem to get away with the games these days ive not got the patience for them lol.

also ive still got my nes with loads of games.....

i remeber having to blow on the cartridges to get them to work

I started playing about with Cannon Fodder a few months back through GOG and soon got hooked on it again, lol. I also remember spending hours on Dungeon Master, Chaos Strikes Back, one of the Last Ninjas, and Little Big Adventure 2 years ago on the Atari ST

Ah, it's not the same playing these kinds of retro games using the modern designed controllers!
