old consoles,

Lets not forget about the blowing in the cartridges when the game wouldn't work

just dug out the old megadrive and n64, some classic games (zelda, sonic, goldeneye etc) sheer class theres nothing better than using the original consoles and controllers compared to emus, was up half the night with a few beers:Cheers:.
Time to hit ebay and get a nes and snes:proud:

Do this myself - cant beat a blast at some old MegaDrive games.

I am going to dig my old mega drive n mega cd out in next week or two. Used to play lethal enforcers(using the guns) had loads of fun. Also used to have a pro fighter which worked on snes & mega drive(games on a floppy disk) we had virtually every game for both consoles.

wow sounded great,
I bet the ole speccy isn't as much fun as I remember though,
Problem was the 5 minute wait for games to load

try the Commodore 64 then with the 20 min wait, or if you had the Disk Drive you could get it down to 15 mins loool

tho i remember some loader come out that made it all much faster

lol i had the commodore 64,so slow to load, the spectrum kicked its butt, but great tech in the day lmao

I loved my c64. Great machine for modding the hardware. There was lot of space in the breadbox.

lets not forget those nintendos 64

Get an old Xbox the original big square ones not the 360 ! Softmod it or modchip it if you can still get hold of a modchip and stick in a bigger hard disk... And then get CoinOps 5 on there..awesome multi emu system Arcade/Amiga/Spectrum/master system/mega drive/saturn/mega cd/nes/snes/playstation 1/neo geo/game gear/GBA etc etc...The full pack is like 64 Gig...with nearly 4000 games...but in total theres over 30,000 supported you can download these yourself or add them if you already have them.
The best emulation project I have ever seen...with a great GUI frontend..even video previews of all the games as you scroll over them. Considering old XBOX consoles are mega cheap on ebay. This is well worth doing.

I've long been a fan of old consoles. Not much for the standard machines, though the good old NES served me well for many years so I can't crap on it much. Here in the States we called the Megadrive the Genesis, and I had fun with it. Started my days in gaming on a Tandy TRS80 and that was ... different.

Since then I've grown up and carved a career out which means I can afford more expensive nostalgia that I never actually got to use when I was a kid.

My two favorite oldies are my FM Towns Marty and my SuperGrafx. Love them, I do.

TRS80! That tickled the old memory cells! My uni had a roomful of Commodore PETs (never got to use them tho), but my bro & I spent hours playing 'Horace goes skiing' on the Speccy.

A friend & I both had ZX81's, we used to send programs to each other via CB radio- could that be a first in 1981?
