Fresh warning to holidaymakers about bogus food complaints | World news | The Guardian

I was reading about this a few months ago. Seems to be a real problem, just like fake whiplash claims. The usual story, the scammers ruin it for the people with a genuine case.

I fecking hate these complaints lawers! :Angryfire

[FONT=&amp]"Gillian Edwards warned that hotels were considering not working with British tour operators because they were not having this problem with other nationalities."

I can't remember the company but I get radio foisted upon me in the gym.

It is something like:

"If you have been a victim of food poisoning in [country], [country], [country], Greece, Egypt or anywhere else in the world..."

Makes you wonder whats next for these chasers. I wonder if the people who have used them to reclaim ppi could sue them for extortionate charges for there services lol. It would be fun seeing these lawyers disappearing up their own arses :)

"Have YOU been unsuccessful in a PPI claim? Here at Spectre's PPI claim counterclaim emporium against bogus PPI claimants we only charge 99% when you win!".

If it carries on for long holidays will go the same way as car insurance and will quadruple in price.

I think holidays have already increased but not sure if that's due to this problem or the financial instability with the pound and brexit, etc

I recently came back from holiday and one of the forms they wanted completing at end of holiday (in addition to the usual feedback form) was about having any sickness, etc. Did we have any sickness/when/how long for/did you you inform staff/holiday rep or had to get doctor?

This form was only in English where as other forms (eg feedback) was in multiple languages that represented the different countries that holidayed with them.

It was clear that this was due to bogus claims which is obviously getting worse.

Have heard of claims reps targeting bars in Spain handing out leaflets and encouraging all and sundry to make a claim and tell those interested the way to proceed to increase their chances of getting compo.
Only one way this is going and that is the honest hard working person is going to pay a lot more for their flight to cover the extra claims on package holidays. It will also affect your hotel cost if booked separate as hotels will need to payout any claims as well.
Another case of the moronic few ruining it for the masses.

The advert is played on a couple of radio stations in the north west quite frequently. Have you had delibelly in the last 6 years on a package holiday? It's the new ambulance chasers trick from the sound of it. Sad really.

Just had one at my work today. Customer said 3 out of 8 people got sick 2hrs after eating one dish yet the rest of the group ate the same food item batch but made differently.
