Sale of Kodi 'fully-loaded' streaming boxes faces legal test

It will be interesting to see the out come.
Personally I think the seller will lose the case and if that happens "FACT" will go after everyone selling them. Sure letters and emails or going out to people for just using kodi.
Personally im not a big fan of kodi but people that do use it I recommend you follow the instructions below.

It's the plug ins that are the issue. The boxs and kodi have many legal uses. All they can do is outlaw the sale with the plug ins on. Or try and block the plug ins as they have been doing.
 
interesting all this, will Amazon then get sued by tv companies for sellings the firestick thus allowing the illegal use of said box, will Ebay stop people selling Firesticks all be it without Kodi on then

greedy third party sellers get what they deseve , they take the credit for other peoples work which they do by in large for free, third party sellers throw a wizard on with in kodi and sell it for a lot more money.

I seen that going on social media and all over the fle-bay.
Going of thread slightly but bear with me.
A well known company in Belfast sell openboxes with all the goodies running.
As we all know openboxes need updated often. But I was talking to an old school mate that said he paid £140 for openbox. He then went on to tell me he has to pay £10 to get it updated!!!!!
I said to him when you get home "tell me what it says on very last channel"
IT SAID AJs name!!
These outfits are charging money for something that's free.
It fooked me off that much I then started up a Facebook page giving out "my own" free updates.
As if they weren't happy charging £140 they then charge to update box that takes roughly 1 minute and is free.

it's the bare faced way they advertise their services that astound me.
There is an advert on my local Gumtree site from a guy updating firesticks for a tenner. The advert includes his first name, mobile number and a wee google map showing his address.

Just seen that he also has adverts for Coventry. Ilike what he says at the end of his description

Wow that isn't too smart.

These guys just ruin it for everyone else that enjoy the addons for their own enjoyment with their lazy business ideas.
 
A mate rang me a couple of days ago about a firestick he's been offered. The guy said he could have it on a 3 day trial and if he decides he wants' it he can have it for £125!!!
Claims he is the only person in England who offers as much as he does.

Hah! All that means is that he installed every possible worthless add-on he could find.

Facebook is littered with adverts for various streaming type boxes.

Offering free content, auto updates etc etc

Greed greed greed.. people know theres money to be made from doing this... imagine a person who just knows how to turn tv onto another channel, can you see this person trying to set up a droid box with kodi installing addons etc... no the person would pay ... they be a lot of people in this situation who rather do this, and its back down to greed

Also its like when traders used to rip dbox owners years ago the dbox owner didnt have a clue how to reimage box etc, they charged the box owner

The grey market will always thrive, regardless of how they try to stop it.
Some day, people will figure out a balanced offering for content for people.

It will be interesting to see how things go with these.
