I agree there , lm not condoning wot he did at all but this girl recorded the act on her phone and didn't tell the police about the act because she didn't want to admit she filmed it ?makes me think was there a plan to get money from him all the time ?
There again he should of known better
6 years is nothing as he will only do 3
yes its harsh in a sense to JoeBloggs but I think they all should get the same but more time as 6yrs is not enough,
must remember why he is in there for, not for shoplifting or a fines etc
you see it all the time pedophiles/rapists/killers get a lesser sentence than someone else who stole lets say security boxes from rich folk in London.
The Law/Sentencing is F***ed up.
Another thing is that some people who plead guilty are NOT guilty lol
they do it because they are going to be found guilty/Cant afford lawyers/court costs so plead guilty to get a lesser sentence cos if you plead not and you are found guilty you get a harsher sentence,
so remember not all people in prison belong there but must do
It is totally fair that he gets' a harsher sentence than "Joe Bloggs".
Joe Bloggs can't use his fame/adulation to abuse. Adam Johnson found it easy and capatalised on it using his fame to abuse an enraptured fan
I think of my daughters at 15 years of age and he should do 6 years never mind out in 3 years. Different story if he had not realized the girls age as some look older but he was fully aware of her age.
Yes maybe yous are right. He did abuse his position and has shown arrogance . Maybe he has been caught before he got to Saville proportions. And yes if it was my 15 year old daughter I would want his balls on a plate. Maybe harsh was the wrong word I used I'm surprised it was 6 yrs I really thought he would get 2 or 3.
Compare that to what the nonses outed by the pedophile hunter trying to groom kids. Might be time for mandatory sentences for all these crimes for parity.[/QUOTE]
Maybe going a tad controversial here but you don't see many dirty beasts (Rhyming slang used) being locked up for their crimes.
Disgraced ex-England footballer Adam Johnson has launched a second legal bid against his conviction for sex acts with a 15-year-old girl.
The 28-year-old was jailed for six years in March 2016 after being convicted of sexual touching and grooming.
He was turned down leave to appeal his conviction and sentence last year but has now launched a second bid.
His case is due to be heard at the Court of Appeal on 28 February.
The former Sunderland midfielder will be asking the court for permission to appeal against his conviction and sentence.
His sister, Faye Johnson, who has led a campaign to have his conviction overturned, tweeted: "Pleased that we now have a date for Adam's appeal against conviction and sentence. I hope that justice can finally be done for my brother."
