After years of campaigning Mike Sivier has finally managed to get the DWP to publish the figure of those who have died whilst claiming Incapacity Benefit and also the number of claimants who have died within 14 days of being found "fit for work".
Although the Government appear to have tried to bury the announcement of these figures by headlining the huge increase in EU migration to Britain.
Mike Sivier announced the release of the figures thus :-
"The Department for Work and Pensions has admitted defeat in its attempt to hide the number of people who have died while claiming incapacity benefits since November 2011 – and has announced that the number who died between January that year and February 2014 is a shocking 91,740.
This represents an increase to an average of 99 deaths per day or 692 per week, between the start of December 2011 and the end of February 2014 – compared with 32 deaths per day/222 per week between January and November 2011."
Although not stated in that part of his statement, the number who died within 14 days of being found "fit for work" between November 2011 and February 2014 was 2560.
There were 7200 deaths of those in the Work Related Activity group (this is people who are expected to be "fit for work" within 12 Months).
There were also 7540 deaths of those who were awaiting the outcome of assessment.
That equates to over 17000 deaths of people who would ordinarily not be expected to die !!!
My opinion of this is that Iain Duncan Smith and the companies he has employed to do his dirty work are nothing short of a murderers.
It should be demanded that he stand down from his Parliamentary position.
