its official guys.

Jeremy Clarkson's contract will not be renewed after a physical altercation with a producer, the BBC's director general Tony Hall has said.
Lord Hall said he had "not taken this decision lightly" and recognised it would "divide opinion".
However, he added "a line has been crossed" and he "cannot condone what has happened on this occasion".
Clarkson was suspended on 10 March, following what was called a "fracas" with Oisin Tymon in a Yorkshire hotel.
The row was said to have occurred because no hot food was provided for him following a day's filming.
An internal investigation began last week, led by Ken MacQuarrie, the director of BBC Scotland.
Mr Tymon did not file a formal complaint and it is understood Clarkson reported himself to BBC bosses.
After that, the BBC's director of television, Danny Cohen, felt he had no choice but to suspend the presenter pending an investigation.
The decision caused an outpouring of support from Top Gear fans, with more than a million people signing an online petition to reinstate him.

Jeremy Clarkson dropped from Top Gear, BBC confirms - BBC News

Im off to cancel the tv licence as topgear was the only thing we watched on bbc.....

As said in the statement it will be a split decision - but how this story can be more important than the story of the plane crash in France on the BBC website I do not know... I think it just shows what position we've got ourselves into as a nation :(

Point taken, but may I remind you young Sir, that this is indeed a forum, a place for freedom of speech for all members to take part in, to a certain extent of course (terms and conditions apply). Sad news about the plane crash and the sad story was quite rightly put in Main site News previously to this thread. It is also bad news for all Top Gear fans who will never get to see there hero on Top Gear again. The question now is who will take over his role on Top Gear????. ;)

Is it true that the others are leaving and all 3 are making another show called "Another Gear"?

This is the investigation summary from the BBC mediacentre:

http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/investigation-summary.pdf

The main facts that speak volumes are probably that Oison Tymon thought that he had lost his job and therefore drove to a local A&E to treat his 'swollen lip' injury.
Not that I'm trying to suggest that the man was considering claiming if he was subsequently sacked. That would just be coincidence that he didn't even mention the assault when he knew his job was safe.
I have actually done a LOT of digging over the net and it appears that Tymon was asked to sign this confidentiality agreement with the BBC...
