The BBC has suspended Jeremy Clarkson following allegations of a fracas with a Top Gear producer.

The BBC2 show will not be broadcast this Sunday while the BBC investigates the allegation.

Clarkson was already on a final warning from the BBC following a string of accusations of racism.

The BBC said: “Following a fracas with a BBC producer Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation. No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. The BBC will be making no further comment at this time

The trouble with Clarkson is he believes he,s untouchable due to the long leash the BBC,s allowed him to have ,the time for him to go is long overdue.

I dont see Top Gear been the show it is without Clarkson though !

This is the very reason he has got away with so much in the past.

It would not surprise me if this was just some cheap publicity stunt to boost ratings.

I enjoy the ladish comedy element to the show while still retaining some factual info on the latest cars.

It's a show that seems to divide opinion more than most. I can appreciate that.

Personally, I find the 'comedy' unfunny, and the 'factual info on the latest cars' completely out of touch with reality.

That's an old fart's opinion anyway. :)

Cant stand the bloke myself and think he's a co**y n*b sack him and get someone else in - nobody is irreplaceable.

I couldn't believe it when I read on the BBC there was a group petitioning to get him back on the show with currently 250000 signatures. He's arrogant, over paid and full of himself - do we need this kind of person on our screens...??

M8 I dont think the sigs were in support of his TV personality presence, im inclined to think there for is political/religious mouthings ?

Personally i don't like the guy and think he,s very one dimensional also very predictable, which leads to a boring presentation of any info he as to impart.

I understand this, but still why support someone like Clarkson. His views are narrow minded and his position is un-deserved. I guess just like a lot of things though its the publics fault - we put him there and he's rinsing it for all its worth.

Still think the guys a n*b :)

Its a bit like the old marmite question this one !!

Personally, I love Clarkson !!!!

He did succeed to make TOP GEAR the most famous car show on the planet with a lot of franchises and make a lot of money for BBC.
About his temper and bursts of racism - no comment

Was it him though or was it just the concept of the program? Will never be able to prove it but Im willing to bet you put another man in his position and he'll achieve exactly the same - Richard Hammond for example?

I particulary dont over like the programme but with out him presenting there is no top gear. of this programme and will be tossing all that away
BBC have made tons of money off this programme and will be tossing all that away.
Those 3 will just go elsewhere, all their contracts are up sept this year.

People do like him lol
An online petition calling for the BBC to "reinstate" Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has been signed by more than 350,000 people.
Clarkson, 54, was suspended after a "fracas" with one of the show's producers, Oisin Tymon.
Sunday's episode of Top Gear will not be shown, and it is understood the two final episodes in the series will also be dropped.
The petition was started on Tuesday by political blogger Guido Fawkes.
It reached the 250,000 mark by mid-morning on Wednesday.

well, he has some very arrogant middle class views but he is hilarious on top gear so it would be sad to see that end, but then again, if I punched my boss, I'd get the sack.

"A complete overreaction"
Perry McCarthy, who was the show’s anonymous driver Stig for several years, said there had been a “complete over-reaction” by people “looking to be offended”.
Clarkson jokes: "At least I'll make the Chelsea game"
Clarkson today joked he was "off to the Job Centre" as he left his London home.
The 54-year-old presenter also quipped: "At least I'm on schedule for the Chelsea game tonight."

He appeared in good spirits as he left his home,

If he does get the boot, William Hill believe that the Radio 2 breakfast show host is the most likely replacement at 2/1 to get the gig.
Johnny Vaughan is 7/2 and, don’t rule out Jay Kay, who is 20/1.

I'm not fan of clarckson but do enjoy the show. I think the show has gone a bit off the rails for the past few seasons but still enjoy it to a degree. Maybe this is what is needed, a bit of a revamp with some new blood. Possibly suzie Perry and Hammond to stop playing the fool quiet so much.
