I'm not affected by bedroom tax in any way, but it seems pointless, won't raise any money, and is unfair.
I'm from an era which had long term, apprenticed, employment, in adequate supply. Even then, we delayed children
until we had the means to support them without state help. By that I mean income, housing, and childcare.
I know I was lucky to live through that period, and general circumstances are now very different, but the cause
of larger families is not rocket science, and is easy to prevent.
If you discount unpredictable personal situations, general conditions have been unstable for many years.
Most with large families, in insufficient housing and income, made their choice, against that background.
My attitude is "you made it, you live with it", don't expect other people to fund your family, or move out,
to accommodate your lack of forethought. I know the children can't be blamed, and I sometimes wonder
whether compulsory sterilization needs to be considered, in some circumstances, for the general good.
