Valve's online game service Steam hit by hackers

The Steam video game service, used by 35 million people, has been compromised by hackers.

Its owner and operator, Valve, uncovered an intrusion into a user database while investigating a security breach of its discussion forums.

The attackers used login details from the forum hack to access a database that held ID and credit card data.

Valve said that, so far, it had no evidence that credit cards were being misused or Steam accounts abused.

Steam make you verify if you connect with a different computer in your own house , surprised they let this happen.
 
yeah i know but that wasn't there all the time, i just seen it the other week when I'd logged into Valve/Steam....saying that i hadn't been on steam for yonks like...credit/debit card data basses will always be vulnerable i guess...look how the mighty have fallen over the past few years.....it's all about security i guess...you would not believe the password at work for the credit/card server! honest you'd die if you new it.....(and you'd used your card with us)
