At least 25 people have been arrested in anti-gang raids across Merseyside.
Some 200 police officers swooped on 31 addresses in the huge operation.
Sky's Mark White is at the scene of one of the raids in north Liverpool.
He said: "This is a huge operation as part of a crackdown on gang-related activities and gang-related violence in this area.
"This is specifically, we are told, aimed at targeting those that are dealing drugs."
He said police say drugs are funding the gangs' activities and also the purchase of weapons.
Merseyside Chief Superintendent Tony Doherty hailed the operation a success, saying: "I think we have sent out a very strong message to these people this morning."
He warned: "They have got to look over their shoulder because we are coming for them all the time."
