I'm making the jump from cs to IPTV. At the moment, I have my VU+Solo2's HDMI output to my main TV, and via a scart to UHF adapter through to my next room.

The Mag254 doesn't have a scart output. Can anyone think of a way I can watch TV in the other room via the coax cable that is buried in my wall.

Cheers

There ws a very similar thread recently mate. I know it is awkward with the MAG250 as it cannot output analogue (via the a/v socket) and HDMI simultaneously, the 254 may be able to. If this is the case then a simple analogue RF modulator would do the trick.

If you want to be really posh (and you have deep pockets) Satlink (and others) do a HDMI modulator for about £150. I just installed one the other day- set-up is easy and PQ is excellent!

The Mag 254 also does not allow simultaneous HDMI/AV output. i would go with the HDMI Modulator prices of these have plummeted in the last couple of years when they where around 7-800 pound you can now get a Technomate variety one for £120 off amazon.

This will give you a Freeview HD channel of your choice for your input, Make sure your TV is at least MPEG4 compatible or the Modulator will not work

Thanks for your advice lads, bit of a pain but at least I know where I am with it. Cheers.

Does this apply to the MAG256 too @digi247?

Not sure not had one yet, but i assume they follow suit and just upgrade the CPU and Ram on the different models
