Anyone been playing this? I'm hooked!!!

Think doom3 with elements of the movie 'event horizon' and some of the best graphics I've seen on the 360 and I think we have a winner.

I'm on level 6 atm and cant see me leaving this alone all evening! :)

I agree, the game is superb :)

I finished it on the Xbox360 yesterday, one of the best shooters I've ever played and the Survival horror side of things is great too.

I'm replaying the game on the hardest settings :)

Make sure you watch all of the ending movie ;)

Just entered hydroponics, and been warned theres a liviathon waiting for me somewhere, mum!!! :)

Is that the level with the vegetables etc?

The Leviathan isn't too bad actually, you fight it in a large gravity free circular room, you basically just run around then stop and shoot once it stops trying to attack u.

3rd person mate, bit resident evil ish.

Is this a FPS or third person? Or is it more like Silent Hill?

3rd person in the same style as Resident Evil 4's "over the shoulder" view.

It's scarier than Resident Evil 4 ever was though, if you enjoyed the movie 'Event Horizon' and played Doom 3 then you'll have a fair idea what to expect - it's loads better than Doom 3 though, IMO.

Well, Doom 3 was pretty lame. Nice to look at but just plain boring.

Well, it looks like I will be getting this one then. It was either this or Far Cry 2, which a lot of people here seem to dislike.

I enjoyed Doom 3 but it quickly got 'samey' and I was glad when it ended.

I didn't like Farcry 2 at first as it's a sandbox game and completely different from Farcry 1, but after a few sessions on it, it has grown on me and is actually quite excellent.

However, between Farcry 2 and Dead Space, I'd definately go for Dead Space.

You are right there, maybe Doom 3 was a bit too long for its own good. The effects and graphics were nice, but it seemed very repetitive to me.

There have been a lot of people in here hating on Far Cry 2, so I went for Dead Space instead :)

I found Doom 3 to be very samey as well, but dead space introduces loads of different puzzle elements as well as interesting game play dynamics, like moving about in Zero G trying tnot to loose your orientation or in a vaccume (so you cant hear anything as there is no atmosphere for sound to vibrate).

Anyway on the last level and really want more!!

Like most games these days, it's too short innit mate :(

I'm not into buying games, but if I had no other option I would happily pay for the privilege of playing this game.
