As title
If your a user of CoolTvGuide would you be bothered if the picons did not show ?
Im a user and I think the picons make a difference tbh

I would like to move over to SNP picons as it would make my life easier lol although I dont mind editing these when things change
would make your life easier too as you wouldn't need to run the plugin on every change, only when new picons are added

Both Abu Baniaz and myself have contacted CoolMan to ask if he will inclue the use og SNP into his code but after weeks we have had no reply

Keep or loose the picons on CoolTvGuide ?

It looks better with the Picons in my opinion but ill be honest i dont use the cooltv guide.

Just prefer the Graphical epg already in the OpenATV image.
 
It does look a lot better with the picons but....it wouldn't keep me awake with worry if they were gone. I don't use the Cool tv guide to much to be honest

@ minute dont use cooltvguide as running slymod which kinda has it built in

wish never tried it to be honest but family like the sly look which i just hate lol
 
if im using blackhole I will use CoolTvGuide with Ferret just use the one in openatv
 
So far those that use it prefer to see picons :) that's what I thought tbh
 
Always use cooltv guide and it looks a lot better with the Picons, without it just looks plain and boring, don't know what SNP picon are :(
 
Just spotting this thread. I use CoolTVguide and prefer picons as to service name. Service Name Text doesnt always fit in the box size available!
 
never even seen cooltvguide without picon @Rat they have always been there m8 and you keep on top of them, think it would look odd without them :)

I'm going to try something the weekend, @ketemp has showed me a way to get epg with picons that dont look that much different than CoolTV, that way we can move over to snp picon

Both OpenATV and OpenVix have their own graphical epg and very good imho and support both SNP, SRP.

OpenPLi also has a graphical epg as well which supports SNP (see below).

Personally I think this looks better than CoolTV as it even has a red timebar as well.

@Rat, I can only imagine the amount of work that goes into maintaining SRP due to the amount of transponder changes. It probably takes up most of your time?

I think CoolTV is basically no longer maintained as there hasn't been an update for a long time. The support for SNP has been included in images for a long time now.

I remember all we used to use back in the old cable days of the DW images was the Graphical EPG
but since I had the TM800 (cringe) CoolTvGuide was introduced into those images and it's something Ive just stuck with

Ive got the Graphical EPG on now but there are a couple of niggles I dont like and I'm looking at changing if possible

The graphical epg is the one i use also for exactly the same reason until the author of cooltv guide allows the use of snp picons i see no reason to use anything but the graphical epg gui standard in the majority of images.
 
Only downfall with graphical EPG is the mapping of coloured buttons, but this is being worked on, hopefully can be fixed :)
 
I guess the mapping of the buttons only becomes an issue if you have had the luxury of been able to alter them in other plugins.

Its never been an issue for me press the epg button and up pops the graphical epg.
 
so what do you get in cooltvguide if you done have picon, is it just channel numbers like old 500s

Ive mapped the red button to take you into epg :) its the coloured buttons while in the epg Id like to map
At present they are
Red = Zap
Green = Timer
Yellow = List Mode
Blue = PrimeTime
These are what Id like to change :)

That don't look to bad, but I do prefer it with picon , not sure what snp picon looks like do you have a screen shot
