All,

Got a DM80HD. Usually on BBC channels, I end up getting a tune failed and on other channels such as Movies I get picture freezing and pausing/jumping as you'll see in the attached video.

I have a konig satellite finder but haven't got a clue how to use it in this context. I've got satellite information on screen and usually it's at 16.5db.

Can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction please? I've tried searching in a lot of places but keep coming up short. Could it be a tuner issue?

Addition: I'm on Astra 28.2E with a fixed dish and I regularly use Rats updater and the other day I did a full rescan as well

It could be a failing tuner yes. Could possibly be a failing LNB also on the channels that jump etc have a look at the signal strength and ber is that jumping around.

Rev J and L tuner were notorious for this type of issue.

Cheers mate. I have a rev m 2.01 tuner. Do you think it could be a badly aligned satellite or could it be overheating? I have a hard drive installed but no fan.

I have good signal on all channels for some reason. When the tune fails after a while on the bbc channels, the SNR drops down to 0.00 if i remember correctly

Rev M are good tuners if your loosing signal intermittently its unlikely to be dish alignment, could be as I said lnb then if not the tuner. Try pointing a fan at it to see if its is a over heating issue

Thanks mate, wanted to make sure it didn't look like an obvious dish alignment issue. Now I can start trying to tackle the simpler issues. I'll get a fan for the box.

I'm thinking of something like this because I have no space inside the box: New Hot USB 2.0 External Cooler 2 FAN Pad for PS3 Dreambox DM800 800HD U24.
