is there anywhere i can find a step by step guide to load oscam on my vu+box all i seem to be getting bits and pieces and its very difficult to match them as im on the older side for this tech.when i started cccam a few years ago i got a step by step guide and it was brilliant and have done it easy ever since but i cant do that on my 4k solo.there must be someone out there who can do this for me im willing to learn

What image are you using on your solo 4k? Easiest way to get started is to use a back up image from lets say masterg. A back up image will already have oscam installed. Where you get the image from most times tell you what web extentsion oscam is using just like cccam uses 16001. A lot of back up images use oscam web extension 7777 or 8181. What you would do is put you box's ip into your computers browser and then th extension but first put :7777 etc. Once into oscam webif you select files from the tab on the top line and then you can select oscam.cfg or oscam.user or oscam.server. If your just looking to put a c line into oscam then you need to convert it to oscam with cccamtooscam convertor and then paste your details into oscam.sever.

Good Luck.

thanks thats the first piece of info that have helped.i have openvix image installed .ill have a go at it this evening i will get the hang of it and thats not bad for a person who 5 years ago couldnt turn on a computer. What i find on these forums is that when explaining something people think your on the same level as them it reminds me of a maths teacher i had once who brilliant at maths but could not teach as he expected the students to be onthe same level as himself.thats all my ranting over got to learn

Ok so that give us a start, we know you have some experience and that you have vix installed. I also currently have vix on my 4k. I am guessing you know how to ftp into your box? Just the same way as when you put cccam.cfg into you box. Another way to put you server line if needed into the box is to ftp into the box and go to var/tuxbox/config and all the oscam files are in there. By viewing the oscam.cfg file it will tell you what webif address it is using and next time you will not need to use an ftp progam to change your settings. Your server setttings go into oscam.server. Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of oscam available to you.

yes im comfortable with ftb programme.just 2 things when i used cccam.config i made it up first on notepad or downloaded from forum do i do the same with oscam.config on notepad or can i download it it from somewhere on forum .im using d.c.c e2 programme and should-nt the latest oscam version be in the openvix plugin softcam im only home for luch at the minute i will try this this evening

There is only one cam for you to download so use that one. Use the attached file to convert your cccam to oscam and then put the details into oscam.server.

You could try the configs above but I am sure you should get something to clear without. On the first page in the oscam webif if should tell you if you have any cards available. Make sure you also restart the cam after changing anything. With vix also makesure you select to autostart in the softcam section of the menu system.

at the moment im experimenting on an old vu+solo2 mini clone running on openpli i dont want to try 4k until im happy with what im doing .so far what ive done is ive created a oscam.config which has 4 files oscam.config oscam.server oscam.dvbapi oscam.user. i user the converter to convert c line to oscam copy and paste it in to oscam .server and filed and saved started the latest oscamsoftcam but nothing clears.what am i doing wrong

If you have used the details above then the webif should be port 8888. If you put your box's ip into your computers browser the put:8888 does it allow you access to the oscam webif? If not then oscam may not be running.

ok so on the first main page does is say anything about a number of cards being available? On mine its in the same line a proxies. If not click files and then oscam.server and see if your converted file has saved under oscam.server.

nothing about cards and in oscam.server it says no files detected

so the file you converted using cccamtosocam copy the output from that file and paste into oscam.server from the webif then save and restart the cam and see if anything appears with regards to the cards.

done that and when i save they disappear and nothing happens on cards

Maybe you need to download a different version of oscam I have never had that before.

do you mean oscam.config or a different oscam
from softcam. will do tomorrow losing concentration now

A different version of oscam, it looks like oscam is running by what you are saying but for some reason when you copy and paste your server details into oscam.server and save its not saving it and if its not saving it you cannot access the server.

Just read back through this thread and read your using a clone box that might have something to do with it maybe??
