Samsung DVD Player problem

My daughters DVD player has stopped playing DVD's, I'ts laser has stopped reading the disc (I think) the model number is F1080W, I know you can get lens cleaners which we don't have ATM. I've took it apart and tried cleaning the lens it just keeps scrolling over the disc trying to read it, thing is when she first got it over two years ago it would play any disc even those burned from the pc etc when our other players would'nt, any ideas lads??

Sorted roud: hopefully this will help someone with a similar problem, apart from checking the obvious things like scratched disc/lens needs cleaning and it's trying to read the disc (not sticking). apparently there are diode(s) next to the lens and all these need to be aligned properly to read the disc, some players allow adjustments to be made, on mine the track which the laser ran along was two stainless steel rods with screws at the end of the rods to adjust the height (alignment of the laser) after 10 minutes of adjustments I had it working again. here's a picture the lens is under the yellow sticker where the arrow is pointing, and the screws are circled.
