My 850 went off last night (and others..)

Looks like it is time for a new box -- any suggestions ??

to answer my own question -- I've gone with a zgemma (what fun to come !)

might be hearing of the 780 to follow the 850 and will mean the days of plug and play boxes have been reached:Mad2:

yeah mine down too iin belfast

anyone know the best hd box to buy now the a850 is down .:Angryfire

I plugged my 780 in yesterday - it still has BT sport euro, box nation, racing (didn't look any further as I'm only really interested in the sport/movies).

My feeling is that if the 850 comes back it will be like the 780 is now. that's why I have taken Cactikids' advice and moved on by ordered a Zgemma..

just read this on other forums

My information is that the server is done but the firmware to enable the boxes to use a public server is being released. Firmware is available for both the A780 and A850

my question will it be released to the owners of those boxes if they want it ,i hope so.

hope so guys at the moment the code is encrypted till the guys have a play about with it ? are till public code ?

Good News if its true... stops the boxes becoming door stops. I assume this firmware will not be available though the box and you will need to install manually and therefore will need a null modem cable and a PC with a compatible port. Does this mean we all need to learn about images, cams, et al.

were and how do i get this firmware as i have the other items you have mentioned?

As I understand it - the 'firmware' is work in progress..

It was reported on another forum that the A850 firmware was released last Year. So you may want to have a search around to see if you can find it. I don't have the release date for the A780, I suspect it would have been around the same time

ahh - I misunderstood then - I thought it was just starting with the 850's going down...

Is this new firmware coming from KV themselves or have some clever guys in the cable CS community developed it?
