Kryptview DW800 help

Hi folks, just bought the new box and uploaded the firmware but when I scan for channels I get a fail message everytime.

I flashed it with the usb and done the click right and then right. It seems to flash ok and restarts but just have no luck searchin for channels.

Anyone got any tips for this?

I dont know if your area is full N3 yet ?
but if not factory reset and put the older firmware on,think its 25092009 then rescan

if you are full N3 then this wont help

You'd think the shop should make people aware of this. There not even helping wonder where I stand in getting my money back.

whatshop sold you it?

SkyWonder and by the looks of things they don't want to take the item back and refund my money after selling me a box that doesn't work.

Any other tips to try and see if I can get it to work? I've tried just about everything I can find on forums and that but when I search for channels I just get a Fail message.

afaik kryptview are the first to offer c/s with there box's with the use of a i-connector but its early days so just hang on a few months when more info is avaliable and you should be fine as long as you have an internet connection

or does your box have a ethernet connector ... if it does just wait for more info and a firmware update

How are you expecting sky wonder to refund you when they sell the boxes as FTA?

it has a usb and a rs232 but new computers don't have the 232 connections anymore.

Cheers anyway. Suppose I'll just hold onto it and hope someday it will work but £170 for a box that you can't work is a bit of a nightmare.

I have the older kryptview and they were good but again I couldn't update it anymore because of the rs232 connector.

true but as the guy has said he cant recieve anything..

Buy a USB > RS232 then.

what firmware are you trying load m8? if you get the very first firmware from here, then that might work better. ive had a couple of problems with my mates and a couple of guys here have had the same issue with them glasgow is not n3 yet (afaik) however i may be wrong. ill post a link to the first firmware anyway you can try that. for £170 you might as well get the most of it til n3 hits pal.

hi there mate, i have tried a few different firmware but none seem to work.

I put it on USB and then click right and then right and it uploads then restarts, I select english, then the service provider (I've tried them all) but it still comes up with Fail when it searches for channels.

I see your in north lanarkshire, am in east kilbride. would think it would be the same area as in channels.

have you tried uddingston as your provider?

its not coming up an option for a areas provider, all I get is: NTL, ex. C/W, Telewest or Chorus.

After that its to the channel search and then the fail message a couple of secs after I press the yellow button for search.

ok, select telewest. after that there should be a scan option to scan for transponders or networks. then you pick from the list. even if n3 has hit then you still get these options. the connection to your cable drop from vermin still live?
