Just wanted some user feed back really?
Are these boxes really wroth purchasing over a dbox?
How is the HD?
Does it display all HD channels?

I've currently got a nokia Dbox which works fine but I don't have any HD channels.
The TV I just bought has full HD, so wanted to maximise my viewing.

Great box, I just sold mine tho to my mate as we switched names for sky and took the half price xmas offer.

During my time I had the box it was great. Picture Quality was perfect.

The only downside to buying any box just now is how long are we going to get free cable for? So you need to decide if its a worth while investment against future screen black out.

Another option that might be possible is c/s with new firmware from the krypt team to allow the box to accommodate this feature.

But apart from the above the box is great and simple to use and is supported with one of the best teams for fixes, although not for N3

BBC HD, CH4 HD, ESPN HD, FX HD, NAT GEO HD, LIVING HD, MTV HD

It depends on what you want. I used to have a DBox and was very happy with it. Obviously no HD but it was a good box with fast channel changes and regular firmware updates/added features etc and good support in the forums.

I may get hammered for this but I have to disagree. I know the Kryptview guys have a good reputation but we have had only one firmware with no update for two months. The EPG in TW is pretty rubbish which means having to set manual recordings - not a big deal but still should have been fixed or improved by now - and the live rewind doesn't work properly if at all. The box would also benefit from having a powerscan in standby mode. Channel change is nowhere near as fast as a Dbox.

I think these problems should have been fixed or at least improved since the initial firmware release in September. Instead it's been over two months and no fixes/improvements in sight.

Once the box is working as it should I think it will be pretty good but I couldn't recommend it at the moment especially if it's not properly supported. I know the Kryptview team are normally pretty good so I am unable to explain the length of time between firmwares.

Cheers.

granted there are some minor bugs or features to be sorted with a possible New fw release. Only time will tell. Maybe they been holding off for f/w to allow c/s.

I have no exp with other HD boxes so cant comment on how they work, but over all I was very happy with this box when I had it.
