i am thinking about putting linux on a partition on my hard drive.

what is the best one for someone who is new to linux........... by that i mean which is easy to set up, but also a decent operating system to use?

and is it actually possible to use linux on a partition?

so i can choose to either boot linux or xp???

hey
check here www.ubuntulinux.org

you can order free cds (click free cds on the right)

you get an installation cd and a live cd that you can boot from the disc to try it out.

takes about 6 weeks to deliver though.

or if you pm me you address i'll send you a set, i'v got loads.
