I have run ad-blocking software on my PC's for years. Privoxy to start with, now I use Adblock+.

I am now finding that more and more websites are cottoning on to this and blocking access. Fair enough I suppose, they need to get their revenue from somewhere. And adverts wouldn't bother me so much if they weren't so annoying and intrusive! I really notice this now if I use a machine without blocking s/w.
So, short of whitelisting these sites (and letting everything through again) I am wondering if there is a way of fooling these sites into thinking there is no blocking s/w.

I have used it for a few years, If they block me then I just don`t back there as there is always somewhere else

The only time I switch off is when doing Quidco or TCB lol

Same here..I have used Adblock since its inception..if I desperately need the website that's moaning I just open it in IE but failing that go elsewhere...

Yep, me too. It's a bit like telling the bank to shape up, and threatening to take your overdraft elsewhere!
But just occasionally there is a particular article of interest. I suppose there's always Edge as a last resort.

It would be interesting to find out if those websites can identify all the ad blocking extensions.

If not, you could try to access them with different browsers using different ad blocking solutions.

But I don't know if it is worth it if it is just once every now and then... personally I just disable ABP temporarily (or not if I know I'll come back) for that website.
