I'm looking for a usenet provider that accepts Paypal (essential).

Hoping to pay no more than £10 a month.

They seem to be the cheapest but are they reliable?

No point in saving a few quid if I'm going to have connection issues with them.

Do you use them personally and can you vouch for them?

I've been using them for a couple of years and they have never let me down,
but others may say different :)

i signed upto the 3 month deal a couple of month ago with astraweb, and there service has been great so far, cant fault it either!

ive also been with astraweb for a couple of years and been brilliant service, 11 dollars a month which is about 7 pound give or take 20 p,

astraweb are good but there was a period a few months ago when they missed a load of posts. Seems to have lasted a week or so.

Aside from that, can't argue with the speed.

They also do an annual deal for $96

I was using astraweb up until 3 months ago and never had any problems and continually maxed out the 50mb connection I had at the time. Only reason I actually left them was due to there being a special offer with Newsdemon which worked out cheaper than Astraweb. Again Newsdemon have been good and max out my 24mb connection most the time.

I've been with astraweb for years, only tried other companies once or twice, I tried Newsdemon when the £4 p/m offer was knocking about, but honestly I soon went back to Astraweb as Newsdemon was worse with more incompletes and worse retention. Personally I think astraweb is worth the extra few quid. But that's only my experience.

I've always had full 50meg speed from astraweb, it was up and down with newsdemon, and the free offer from Binload that available on here also gives me full speed constantly.

I only download over night though to avoid virgin's silly throttling.

Here's a good website that compares all the available options.

This site even tells you who owns each of the back servers, Astraweb own their own. Newshosting, Newsdemon and Easynews all get theirs from Highwinds and thus have way more people putting a strain on their servers.

Thanks guys.

I signed up to Astraweb earlier today after reading all the comments.

£7.02 a month for unlimited and it's maxing out my 30Mb BB. :)

ive tried a few in the past like newsdemon etc
