How do i block all porn sites?

Its definately possible to lock down MS OS. The weak link is always politics rather then technical.

TBH, as somebody else mentioned if you are that concerned then put the PC in a family area where usage can be monitored.

I am confused here. If I enter YouPorn.com Lite (BETA) - Porn into my browser, my PC tries to resolve YouPorn.com Lite (BETA) - Porn to an ip adress. The request goes to opendns and it directs you to a page saying the the site is blocked.

However if I enter the http://80.80.80.80 then my PC does not need to a name resolution and goes directly to the site. The only think I can think of is opendns messes with proxy settings within my browser ?

Just tried it and opendns blocked all content on the site.

First I got the IP address of the youporn site, which is 173.192.60.244

Then I blocked it using opendns. I then flushed out firefoxes cache and history.

I tried to goto youporn site using the url and opendns blocked it, I then tried the IP and after the initial message from the site saying I will be redirected to the proper url opendns blocked it.

Most websites work on named links for their content and not IP addresses, so for instance if you want to put a picture or video link on your site you would use something like,

<img class="statcounter" src="http://c.statcounter.com/4211875/0/5c9f93ed/1/" alt="hit counter" />

Most wouldn't use

<img class="statcounter" src="http://192.168.1.1/4211875/0/5c9f93ed/1/" alt="hit counter" />

Opendns would block everything because every link on a web page has to be resolved by DNS, not just the main page.
