my web site is down..forward link?

hey all,

My web site is down, the host is saying that some one uploaded a php file and it has fooked the server they say that there is 1000's of people affected, is there any way that i can point the link to a temp page just so all my users know whats happening?

The people who you registered your website address should be able to redirect traffic to an alternate i.p address other than the one your current website is setup to use.

Ask the guys your bought the domain name off if they can do it. It'll probably take about 48 hours though, you might be better off waiting for your website to come back online.

Thanks, they say they are working on it but have no idea of how long it will be and in the mean time thought that i may be able to forward it....

I would recommend changing hosts mate, cant be a very good company if a single PHP file could kill their whole server and affect so many people, must be some amazing PHP code, lol

You can do it through your domain control panel, most domain registration companies offer free web forwarding, where you can point the domain to another website, you can also redirect the emails. Once your back with a host you will need to change your nameservers back to the nameserver for your host.

it would have been a php shell script mate, all you gotta do is get it uploaded to a server running php and you can connect and run shell commands.
if its affected loads of sites they probably found a remote file include vulnerability in a script the host was running.

i am devasated.....my site that after about 3 years has been hacked and it's only showing a few errors now, apparently the host had the server that my web site was sitting on has been hacked to fook.

3 years down the drain..........

Do you not have a local copy of your server then?

Who are the providers?
