hi there I have a Samsung series 6 tv, with an surround sound htc-460, what I am asking the other night tried watching a film through usb I would like to no can any way when I do this connect the tv through my surround sound to get better sound being trying all day with wires but getting no joy tia

depends on what model series 6 you have some have both Optical spdif out as well as HDMI ARC out on HDMI2, For ARC to work your sound system also has to have a compatible ARC HDMI input

hi there the tv an ue46f6400akxxu am confused already with Optical spdif out as well as HDMI ARC out on HDMI2 sorry

What I have done with mine is I have used the headphone jack out of tv to a surround amp with 5 speakers off the amp..
Works perfect..get a great noise..

Your TV has Optical SPDIF output so you can either use that with an optical cable and connect to your surround system or do as @AJT above states and use the Headphone socket out which your TV has

ajt where did you connect the headphone jack too

On my main amp box I brought a lead with male headphone jack on one end and a left and right RGB audio on the other.so connected to input L/R on 5.1 surround box..it has 5 connections out for each speaker ie front-center and left and right and surround..I brought the whole set up from amazon and added better column speakers..
A Xenta-Surround-Sound-Speaker-System-Black/5.1+surround+sound

Any one recomend a decent surround sound system, thats not over priced

I bought a soundbar instead of surround system. I have enough cables round the room and only really use now and again. I know it's not as good but might be worth a try. I plan on upgrading to one with bluetooth later in the year.

I had a cheap bush sound bar, i wasnt that impressed with it + they are not really surround it was only £40

I have a Xenta surround sound system.i got it from fleabay..main bass speaker with 5 satellite speakers
Cheap and cheerful but does a great job just plugged into headphone socket of tv.

Had a look at that there, for under £50 i might take a punt on it, thanks
