Downloads: A new file has been added by ketmp:

SkyLookingSetup4Vix (v1)
(build 01/09/15)

This plugin will setup any recent and current version of OpenVix (Hades and current 3.2) to look more like $ky.

It automatically adds a modified graphical epg to better improve EPG experience, picons (some maybe missing), sky bootlogo and a working mgcamd mg_cfg file.

This should work on most enigma2 boxes.

PRE-REQUISITE:

  • Recent or current OpenVix image
  • OpenVix-Blue-HD skin installed and setup

NOTICE:
This plugin will overwrite any picons installed on your box in, "/picon", overwrite any default bootlogo with 'Sky Believe in Better' bootlogo' and will overwrite any mg_cfg for the mgcamd softcam.

WARNING:
This plugin shouldn't be used on any box with very limited freespace left in root. DreamMultiMedia (DMM) boxes are known boxes with generally very little freespace left (if any).

HOW IT WILL LOOK:

Below are some screenshots of how the setup should look:-

Thanks goes to Rossi, Matt and anyone else at WoS for the modded graphical epg look.

You need to have the OpenVix BlueHD skin installed and selected because it makes slight changes to the skin. It will display error message if it doesn't find the BlueHD skin.

I have used this on Solo2 and Zgemma S2 boxes without issue and I believe it would work on most boxes except maybe dmm due to lack of space.

Anychance of doing this for openatv image? That is vix based isnt it? Great work though :)

it does work on ATV but the blue HD skin is no longer available from feeds and you have to remove enhanced movie centre. The latter isn't a problem as image will use default movie centre instead.

The skin I will retrieve directly from feeds and upload here later

must try it on the 800se lol just for the fun of it

@alimac,

For those with dmm boxes with very limited memory could try the following telnet command BEFORE installing the skin:-

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

This creates a link from the root to your USB* for the folder, "Blue-HD" and this stores the bulk of the skin components.

Obviously, I would recommend doing a complete image backup before trying.

Let us know how you get on.

* Amend as appropriate if wanting to use a HDD.

If you have a large enough usb stick then using below telnet command would be better as it will re-direct all plugins (current and future) to the usb automatically rather than having to use plugin.

i have that method to hand mate works 100%
very handy
will see if can manage a basic backup lol

Note: installed ok on pli but bootloops on restart

Someone has recomended I install plugins via telenet would you recomend this or can I install it from the tmp directory over ftp, thanks

It easier to just install the plugins through the tmp directory. You can always delete unwanted files after through FTP.

You have to ftp the files to tmp directory anyway.

More experienced users would use telnet and various command to install plugins because some plugins need dependencies to run and with the right command telnet will install these.
