I can only tell you what effect it has on my box, the last few patches have all caused cccam to freeze constantly. I am using 130p and find this more stable with no freezing.
It could be just the combination of the patches, receiver models and providers.

The TM forum has full feedback for the patches be they test or full patch release.

I have read through the TM forum and other people (Holmrod in particular) are having the same issues with the latest patches, as you say if you don't want Powervu use an early patch like 117p. I like to have as much choice as possible so prefer to have Powervu and find that 130p seems quite stable.

Had ONE 'issue' on latest patch 138P (ex d/l centre) today where I was changing channel on 13E from Sly Sports Italy 2 to 1 and whole M3 locked up, with no remote or front buttons communication possible - had to switch off/on at back to resolve - but maybe its a quirk which could happen at any time?

Seems quite happy to me.

I have seen quite a few cases of M3's locking up, irrespective of patch. Weak signal seems to be the instigator in many cases, though not always.
I have also had issues with M3's using channel lists which may have been compiled on older models.

I really do believe that when we have quite a large choice of patches we have to find the one which best suits US - even though it obviously OUGHT to be the latest version with all its 'alleged' benefits! lol!!
Personally I'm still on very latest version of patch 138P (seems very odd that we have had THREE versions of same number eh? - although at least two were 'test' versions!) - but apart from the ONE issue re freeze up as highlighted by manic01, its running best of all of them - for ME that is of course!

I still belive most issues regards cs is down to server type being used ie pay servers as opposed to small family type servers lol
There are as said many patches to choose from.
