Hello mate, i have this running on my single tuner zgemma, there is no option in settings for update and i have just been on the vix4 site and the images for the zgemma boxes are now in the discontinues folse...does that mean there in no more images for these boxes?

Hi Ali3n, one of the main things I decided to run with when I first started with the ViX4 project was to remove the online update option, by online update though I mean the option where you press a button and it downloads the latest package updates because I identified this as an issue, let's say you update today but I wait a few weeks, it might work fine for you but for me in a few weeks there may have been so many updates (and especially moving branch and kernel updates) that chances are the receiver just won't boot up again and will need a re-flash anyway, it's not such a bad idea for nightly build images if used correctly but for images that only have a new release every so often then it just doesn't really work.... But that doesn't mean there is no way to online flash update! You can take a setting backup, you can directly download firmware to the receiver, you can flash it directly and you can restore your settings, all done on screen and no need to leave your chair! This goes for all makes and models I have built the ViX4E2PROJECT images for (excluding one model) as that's one thing I wanted to achieve from the start, another being new releases from time to time as the need arises but more important was a stable working image rather than bleading edge updates every other day.

Now the Zgemma range, I have not plans to delete the existing images and/or addons server at the moment, so please feel free to carry on making full use if you wish, but right now the one to answer the question on if there will be a new release lays with the manufacturer, it's been fantastic to get such great feedback and thanks from users but as it stands right now I have no plans for new releases for the Zgemma range unless something changes with the manufacturer, but I will be carry on with the other makes and models while the models are still current (meaning I still have access to the hardware for testing before purposes).

Will there be image's for the new dual core model? ?

Never say never but as it currently stands unfortunately the answer is no.

Looks like the plugin feeds for the Zgemmma series no longer work, I guess they have been removed.
Maybe will have to revert to OpenATV in the future or use TSPLUGIN instead, shame this image is no longer updated or supported it's a good stable image.

Has all support now been pulled for the Zgemma series? this is by far the quickest and easiest image to use and flash, very impressed!

is there a way to get the channelnames to display instead of the channel numbers

In terms of the Zgemma range then no afraid not and as it stands it is unlikely to be returning any time soon, sorry. Plenty of other makes and models which are supported though.

This is a shame lavaman because this is great and stable image.Because updates and plugins have stopped is there anywhere we can download plugins and ipks specific for this build.

I know it's been over six months since this issue has been raised on this thread, but just wondered if Lavaman has giving any more thought to resurrecting Vix4E2Project for the Zgemma. Got it running on my Alien2 and really like it, and there does seem to be interest out there for the Zgemma.

If nothing else, it flags up that there are people out there just waiting for this to happen.................
