Automated OE-A OnDemand installer script for PLi3

As the title says really, this is a script that when run, will automatically download and install all of the required dependancy ipk packages, an ipk that i created, containing the source .py files that are called upon by OnDemand, but dont exist outside of OE-A images normally, and an ipk i created, containing the .py source files directly from the OE-A git itself (latest files at time of posting)

This script is for OpenPLi 3.0 based images

To use, simply unzip the script.sh file, and FTP it to your receivers /tmp folder, change the CHMOD properties to 755, then in telnet, run the commands

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

Once its complete, restart enigma, and OnDemand will be there for you.

:)

Tested on Technomate TM-TWIN, TM-2T, TM-SINGLE, Vu+ Duo & DM800

Once you have transferred the file over by FTP, highlight it and right click it and select chmod.

Chmod allows you to change the file permission's for the file, read write permission's etc.

nice one, done that , thank you,

now if only i could telnet the command, it wont let me log on even though i know my password!!!

That's what I'm trying to use, but even though I know my password it won't let me log on!! Not sure what to do now, any ideas?

Are you also clicking telnet instead of leaving default of ssh?

Hi all

yes, I'm clicking telnet on the options, typing in the ip address then it goes to the sign in bit.
I type root, then it asks for password, which I type in, then it just keeps asking for it. And even if I use "passwd" to change it, it still won't recognise it!!

Thanks for taking the time together help me guys

Well that suggests the wrong password is been used but your sure its correct.

Will the password your using login to the box with a FTP program ?

Is the password your using one you have gave it or default for the image ?

I did change it and I can log in using ftp so that's what's confusing me! Even tried changing root password on the box itself but that didn't work either. Should I just factory reset and start again?

Makes no sence mate if the pass works for FTP it should work for telnet so if you did factory reset you may end up with the same issue.

Maybe try the Telnet option in DCC just to see if there is a issue with Putty in this instance.

What's DCC again? Sorry for the stupid question but I'm relatively new to it

I've downloaded DCC, logged on and working fine. But when I use the telnet, I just can't seem to get it working. But the ftp is fine. Any help would be grateful

ive been playing for the last hour or so but still no luck!! ive ftp the file over etc, changed the CHMOD, tried the telnet command but no luck. when ive checked in the tmp folder for the script.sh file, there is none, it had changed name or not transfered im not sure!!!

im on dreambox 8000 running openpli3 if that makes a

slight breakthrough.....ive kind of telnet it but now it says permission denied!!!!

Looks like you have not chmod755 properly.

What receiver and image by the way?

I'm using Dreambox 8000HD with openpli3

I thought I have changed it but I'll try again tonight. I right clicked it and typed in 755 in the properties bit, did I need to do anything else? And does it make a difference if it changes it's file name, as script/sh isn't there, just ecm.info I think
