OpenPLi-2.1-beta-dm800se-DAILYBUILD by gjstroom

New image with SIM2 SSL84b and 'tweaked' 20120706 drivers.
PLi switched to 0328 drivers, so with this updated version you can do a safe online update until Pli decides to update again...
I also included the new OpenPLi 3.0 bootlogo's, they have a nice fresh 'look'.

This image is a 100% build image from OpenPLi source, it uses tweaked 0328 drivers, which runs all plugins without patching.
You can use the update function, but if the PLi team switches to a new driver or ssl you may end up with a non functional box (which is an easy fix).
Check the PLi openembedded shortlog to be sure !

There's no active development for OpenPLi 2.1 any longer. Pli's customized Enigma2 is still maintained and is present in this image.

Plugins:
No additional plugins installed, use the plugins menu and download with the green button.

Image flashing:
Be sure you have SSL84 on your box, if you get the "INVALID IMAGE (OR OLD VERSION)" error, flash SSL84 first and try again.
If your box is already at SSL84x you can flash the image immediately, the new SSL84b is included in the image !

If somebody gets a chance to test this can you let me know if it works ok,

When I try to flash any of gjstrooms builds I have problems,

Firstly it wont boot first time,I need to switch off and back on
Secondly enigma2 wont start and I need to telnet in to start it
Thirdly it leaves strange random folders in the /tmp directory

With regards to switching off and on, that is what he means by saying powercycle after flashing.

I have not tried it on an 800HD SE, just the 800HD, so not a conclusive response. On the 800HD, everything worked fine. There were no folders created in the tmp directory. Even online updates went fine.

I guessed that bit about the powercycle after I read it back lol,

But the rest is annoying and makes it unusable, which is a big shame,

What does the tweaked driver do better that the old driver, faster switch channels?

The tweaked drivers present themselves as the latest drivers and do not get overwritten when performing an online update. (You cannot use the latest drivers on clones unless you have an A8P sim)

This may sound like a very stupit quistion, but how
do I see if I have an A8P sim, do I open the boxs?

This SSL84b is that a firmware that will be
programmet into the A8P or is this smal firmware a boot loader which will go on
same FLASH as the image?

The SIM is like a phone SIM. Yes you can open up as this is most definitive way. However, when it boots up, it says what sim it is . Normally Sim 2.1

SSL84, is a bootloader (Second Stage Loader) which id=s fkashed onto receiver. Yes flash like image.

Yes. Althoiugh it will update it to 84B.

Make sure you switch off the power after flashing is completed. Then restart your receiver.

It will work on a sim2 clone yes if your going to uses this image you may as well use the latest version of it
