I will summarise all the issues that have been experienced during testing here .. and we can cross of the ones that have been fixed and add any new ones ..

As of 29/7/10

1/ Picture Breakup (changing channels cures this for a short time)
2/ Clock is very erratic in Standby (gains/loses time)
3/ Signal meter readings seem lower than normal
4/ Lip sync becomes poor whilst watching a channel
5/ CCcam not reading cards directly or indirectly through Newcs
(update: smargo usb does read cards)
6/ USALS not very accurate
7/ When box brought out of Standby either channels break up or get a green crash screen
8/ AC3 sound pops in and out
9/ CCcam errors as per 'dmesg'
10/ Setting fixed IP only works for current session.
11/ Setting DNS only works for current session.
12/ Network connection input screen retrieves IP broadcast address and prefills data into third DSN server address.
13/ Sound defaults to Narration.
14/ System does not give enough time for the motor to move the dish to another satellite before displaying tuning failure messages.
15/ Holding Stby button does not display the shutdown menu.
16/ Shell Scripts do not run natively (they do if part of an XML file)
17/ Shell does not support python
18/ Unable to view encrypted channels after recording. No picture but sound OK, FTA channels are fine to record

I find my USALS to be as good as any other box.

IMO, it shouldn't be on the list.

For me, lip sync only goes off in HD channels, not SD.

SD subtitles only work via teletext pages(199 for canal+ swe and 690 for Viasat) Which has to be done manually.Dvb works ok but it needs a reboot after a day or two!

CCcam stop working after 4th c_lines with same user and password

Channel zapping is painfully slow

I think we are all experiencing slightly different problems.

My zapping is just as fast as the DM800 I had, I've got no issues with zap speed at all.

Maybe your CS is lagging mate?

zapping for me is as quick as other linux receivers i have

Strange as only the Zapping on my TM800 is slow on my VU+ Duo its really fast and on my new TM500 Super is also very fast?

Never had problems with CS lagging.

4:3/16:9 aspect ratio auto switch still not fixed

I personally find usal very acurate but what I do find is that the upper signal levels and lower than they should be, the lower end are fine.

Motor drive speed varies, kind of a ramp on ramp off but no so acute.

Zapping levels are not as fast as original dm800.

i use a very small channel list, but this is copied from elsewhere
If you are talking about zapping speed you need to state the channel list size as some of the downloaded lists are very large. They are kept in memory and some include all channels from 70E to 40W.
Issue: When the TM800 is in standby mode the fan runs. Only way to have the fan stop is by putting the box in Deep Standby, but that then shuts down all services.
Is it possible to have the fan turn off when in normal Standby mode?
