I have the old navigo v1 and currently using it with tomtom over here in the USA and working well but I always like to try new s/w. My navigo has been modded so it runs other s/w like destinator and igo but you just can't beat tomtom.

Anyways, I found this new s/w called Polnav and literally just now got it running although it uses american maps.

some screen shots I found on the web

But for anyone who is interested and wants to try something new, here is what I did (links do include UK Maps however I have not tried them since living in the USA it would be a tad tricky!).

Download the software from here. It is v6.0.8 and supposedly has TTS.

Maps can be downloaded from here

2008 Maps - older but more choice of maps
2009 Maps

Now for those in the know with navigo, it is easy to mod but as a recap

rename polnav6 directory to mobilenavigator and copy to root of sd card.
within this mobilenavigator directory, copy polnav_istts_release.exe to mobilenavigator.exe.

You need to ensure maps have been copied in the maps folder of mobilenavigator and you need to create the proper country name folder

eg
usa_west.map (which is what I use) goes to SDCard\MobileNavigator\Map\usa_west
SDCard\MobileNavigator\uk.map goes to Map\uk

Now run it and it should start up.

If u get "no map database installed" message then check the above map locations

If u get "Unregistered map(s) found!" you need the cracked exe.

You can download the cracked exe from here. Take the cracked executable navigator.exe and replace mobilenavigator.exe.

I am now off to pick up the lad from school which is about 5miles away. So gives me a chance to test out this new s/w.

EDIT: okay, the cracked exe dont have icons so the alternative is to use the keygen here. Ensure polnav_kg.exe is in the apps folder and Rxxxx.key is in the maps folder. You then need to rename Rxxxx.key to R<deviceid>.key. You can get the device id from help about or if you rename map folder and start the app to get no maps database found message, that displays the device id.

Need to use WinCE file explorer to run polnav_kg.exe, this starts the app and auto activates the maps by generating a R<deviceid>.key file. Move this over to the Map folder (yes, overwrite one you made earlier). Close down and run original file polnav_istts_release.exe and now polnav should be working fine.

I have tested it and like it. Interface ain't too bad either. Response times was quicker than tomtom. I might just keep using this for a while now to see how it goes.
