I've not look at my TM600 in a while and forget how to do this, I remember it involves telnet but how do I change the password on my TM600 running UR

Using DCC open up the telnet window and type 'passwd' at the prompt. You will then be asked to type new password twice.

or in wondows cluck start, run, type cmd and press enter

type

telnet box IP address, EG

telnet 192.168.1.10

login with username root
password will be blank so press enter

type

passwd

enter new password twice

job done ;)

Thank all, Now I need to get CCcam setup again, I remember it was a real f*cker of a job last time.

Not really. Download the latest cam via the blue panel ensuring you make a copy of your CCcam.cfg file if you currently use one which you can then FTP back to the box when new CCcam is installed. Saves a lot of manual re-entry of scripts, C lines, F lines etc.

@Malcolm-X

you could try this plugin for reseting tm9100 Enigma password, it resets the password to be blank then you can set a new one with telnet etc, i think most enigma img's have password file in same place so should work although i've not tested it so use at your own risk, i just packed it into installer.

extract .tar.gz from rar then ftp into /tmp/ and manual install from addons manager..

think the plugin was made by "Mickle026"

Edit:
just thought it's going to be hard to ftp it to box if you don't know pass :)

Edit2:
you could try the methods posted in this thread
https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/208593/

that was for an image that was rlsed with an unknown password on.

Thanks for that,

I have an old Dbox and forgot the password so wondered how it could be done!!

Would that procedure get everything off the receiver or keep the original .cfg files etc in place??
