ingredients

TM600
USB-SATA adaptor
300G HDD
SATA cable
3G wifi router
blatant disregard for safety
wire
tools
sticky tape
dangerous cutting tools
beer
time

threw them all together, and came out with the following

a TM600 with, 300G sata drive, its own broadband mobile connection, if you have a wifi laptop in the same room, that can access the net as well, via the technomate, wirelessly, if you have a wireless laptop, and a usb printer (or webcam) that will plug into the back of the TM, and you can use them from the laptop, with no wires

i may fit an external aerial for the wifi access for external devices to connect to the net via the TM, but anywhere theres mobile phone coverage, this will connect to my home network for viewing ,as long as its connected to a dish as well, my 300W 12v invertor in the van runs it with no problems ;) and itll also allow anything within range internet access as well

im still working on my linux / sly digibox hybrid, but the dodgey box circuitry is so unnecessarily large that its proving a problem, so i may have to abandon that in favour of a 3 card TM600 instead

pictures follow

Re: got a bit bored, so made a monster

lol looks like you have a stock pile of sky+ receivers there in one of them pictures :Hit::Hit:

yep, and every single one of them is fooked, you cant even see a quarter of whats here, you cant see a quarter of whats in just that one pile lol

good reliable boxes them sky+ ones lol

Never mind the Sky Plus receivers, it looks like Digidude needs a painter and decorator looking at the state of that architrave and skirting board. Once he's had the decorators round he needs somebody to finish the edging on that laminate flooring and give the floor a once over with a vacuum cleaner and a mop.:Laugh:

lol, dont it look stinking, thats a very corner where the washing machine used to live, and the leaves, omg the fookin leaves, i live under the biggest tree for miles, and no matter what you do, they get in

cant believe how bad that little corner looks in that pic, im looking at it right now, and it dont look nothing like the picture lol

Looks good DD... good work..

As for the Sky+ boxes reminds me of my shed.. mine was jam packed with HD and sky+ lol... standard boxes made it to the tip lol..

Tip though.. move the boxes away from the wall theyre making the wall damp lol

ive heard that solwise are about to bring out the same router thats powered by USB m8, i chopped mine up and found that its 12 and 5V that run it, so was able to aplice it into the power loom internally, but if its usb powered, you could velcro it to the back of the receiver easily enough

you do need a PC to initally setup the router to use the 3G dongle as its main internet connection though, theyre designed to connect to another internet connection via a router, and if that fails to take control and use the 3G connection

Thank F for that you had me scared for a second there Im usless at Pc stuff takes me weeks to learn the most basic of tasks :proud:

Im not in no hurry to sort the usb router out would be nice to get it sorted for the summer though for the caravan )

i like that you give it a go.

I wonder if you can call up your sat box to record!

from an internet connected PC m8, yes, from anywhere in the world ;)

the box has a dynamic address setup, and the details entered into the inadyn updater on the box, so if the receiver is on, i can log into it from anywhere, browse the epg, change channels, send text messages to the screen, update and change things, and set recordings / timers

:proud:

If you manage to mass produce these things.... ill have one.. with the c/s included like....

a 3G receiver i could sort out for you easily m8, the CS though, youd have to source on your own :)

Does the card share work without the 3g?? ?? does it work on gprs or is that too slow?

it works on GPRS, there is the odd few glitches, but its watchable
