RAC SatNav 200

Does anyone know if the RAC Satnav 200 can be hacked?

RAC are wanting £30 for updated maps and my mate isn't willing to pay it, lol.

i will pm you links to software and instructions tomorow as its a bit late now and im working in the morning but it is prety easy to get this going just a mater of renaming the tomtom exe to R66Navigate7.exe and activaing the map.

I could do with links too, gutted just bought the RAC of ebay advertised with French maps ... only uk supplied, taking wife and four kiddies off to France on the 3rd ... really dont want to pay RAC 30 quid, its even worse I actually had a legit version of Tom Tom until my eldest used the SD CARD for MP3s arrrrggghhhh

This is awesome news! I've been struggling for a year now with the rubbish setup that RAC/Route 66 decieved me into buying. So I'd be interested in getting the files PM'd to me or even sent to my email address so I can once and for all put the little bleeder out of its misery!

Sorry for double posting but I managed to get igo8 installed instead of the tomtom but I can't get it to pick up any satalites. I've heard of people talk of ports and bauds? Maybe I need to change them but I have no clue what they are or how I can change them.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Ok So I answered my own question. Just incase anyone is interested, in advanced mode, on the main map press the bottom left hand corner (with the pic of the battery and signal meter), press GPS, press settings, make sure GPS is enabled (top option) and then press auto detect. This will then detect the port and baud rate for your GPS.

I keep forgeting to come back to this one all you need to do is put the files from the download onto the root of the of the sd card. Then rename the tomtom exe file to the same name as the route 66 exe file that is on your original rac sd card and thats it when you start navigation it will run the renamed exe file and tomtom will run.

Got this working, managed to patch the maps etc but now I'm not receiving any sattellite signal.

Anyone got any ideas?

TomTom 7 is garbage from what I've seen, probably worse than the Route66 software that came with the machine!

I installed a few other WinCE compatible GPS systems and so far iGo8 is the best system I've seen running on this machine.

But forget GPS, I've been playing Monkey Island on the RAC Sat Nav 200 all night

Download the WinCE version of SCUMMVM, give it the same name as your R66Navigate7.exe and it'll load up, install your fav SCUMMVM app and enjoy, lol
