With thanks to Boyblue and SatSearching for their genius help on this release! Quick run-down:
  • CVS stand 08 Aug 2008 11:31 (despite what I might have said in the readme, LOL!)
  • Exclusive: Full library of Channel Logos in the Infobar!!
  • The 'proper' Scan Menu is back, without that satellite gobbledegook!
  • Mgcamd support added into the Blue button menu (thanks- lincsat!)
Loads more info in the release notes attached, which some peeps find more interesting to read than watching telly! There's some 'valuable' info in there, so please do have a browse through.

And of course, a decent amount of Free Space left in memory. My own nokia testbox, running evocamd only, 7 Day EPG, LCD-EPG, TuxCom AND Channel Logos in Infobar: 2.6mb Free!!

Come on- beat that, you SquashFS fanatics...

As usual, no roms, keys, nor cams are included.

Have fun- AL

As always Al....sterling work my friend. Love the logo's, I had them sort of working on an image a good while ago, may have been cableferret but not sure. I had to rename about 6 of them so thx for info on doing that. I used to have BBC One and Two N Ireland but lost them so I just duplicated the BBC1/2 icons and renamed them to suit.

I altered image for educational purposes to try it out non FTA and it was working fine, great quality, fast switching and it looks really good.

Set my location worked spot on.

Thanks again m8.

Great image again Al, all works fine here, channel logos look great.

Freddy

Cheers Al - Brilliant img

Nice feedback- thanx guys. The original neutrino logo file naming syntax looked like Mandarin, LOL! Made up of sID/onID/TsID - so very tricky to match what logo actually belonged to each channel name.

Now it's channel name-based, so much easier to sort out! But remember please, this is Linux and neutrino- so:

itv1.raw
itv 1.raw
ITV1.raw
ITV 1.raw
itv-1.raw
ITV-1.raw
etc etc

could all be unique file names in the same folder, something that DOS would never allow!

So when I say that the icon file name must exactly match the channel name in services- this means UPPER/lower case, spaces, and everything!

I haven't helped, by including the rogue ITV1 London.raw file, LOL! That's the first one for most of you to rename. In fact, I did this deliberately, to force you all to get a bit of practice!

Channel Icons Show:

If you go dbox > Settings > Yellow > Yellow - you'll find 4 show options, all of which take effect 'on the fly' after saving settings with Red:

  • Do without
  • In place of Channel No. (default- best, IMHO)
  • In place of Channel name (naff)
  • Beside Channel name (not bad, specially as SS managed to lift it a bit!)
So have a play and see which mode you prefer.

Cheers- AL

five life is now fiver and that icon is there - just go into ur service file and edit five life to fiver and it'll be sorted, same with a few others on mine, paramount comedy was slightly different, spaces etc so i just edited the raw file this time to match the service file.

cheers

Ah got it. Cheers m8, hadnt realised it had changed name.

That's cool, m8. We're particularly interested in feedback from the legion of squeaky / freezing Sagem owners, as to how this image runs on your boxes.

Also- Set My Location and Fast Scan: please test these and report, even if you don't usually need to bother with these, as we're trying to get the SML database bang up to date and 100% accurate!!

Cheers- AL

ok worked fine for cardiff area, SML + fast scan found all channels (28 transponders) in 3mins 2 secs.....cheers

Thanks AL,

First class image, channel logos add that little bit extra, nice work there and thanks for your ( and your helpers ) effort in getting this feature functional. Nice to see the servicescan menu back to 'normal' and working...........fantastic work mate and thanks for sharing.

Actually, I discovered last night that the Channel Logos worked even better than I thought!

If you have Virtual Zap enabled, allowing you to Left or Right arrow to see now 'n next EPG for adjacent channels (without leaving the channel you're already watching)- then the Channel Logos still appear in the virtual zap Infobar!

Blindingly fast too- impressive, when you consider that these raw image files are being unzipped / zipped in the background...

Cheers- AL :proud:
