As title really. I have flashed and spoofed more than a few 360's lol. So when my 360 drive started to play up i decided to hunt down on egay and get myself a benq....Why BenQ ? Well out of all the 360's I have seen i have found this drive to be the quietest and from reports as to modded BenQ's im told they play any old disk you chuck at it.
Ok with the above explanation out of the way I have just realised that i have Never spoofed a BenQ into a Hitatchi - all the main programs like iprep ect support flashing and spoofing between the Toshiba and the BenQ. None of them actually enable you to flash the BenQ with spoofed firmware (Hitatchi Spoofed that is).
So here i am with my spoofed firmware - Done through Firmware Toolbox, But have no idea how to flash it to my 360. I have all the correct gear inside my pc ie the correct Sata card ect. So i just need a way to flash. Any help would be much apreciated. Ta in advance.

If you're confident that you have a good spoofed firmware then can you not just use iprep to flash it to the drive mate?

Iprep returns an error when i try it - saying the strings dont match - not a valid firmware. I have checked the firmware and remade it a few times just to be sure. Im just at a loss as to how to flash it. I have found out about Dosflash 1.4 now that seems as if it may do the trick but I cant find any clear instructions for this. Obv the last thing i want to do is brick the thing before i start lol. See i cant get iprep to make me a bootable dos disk without a valid firmware. It would in theory accept a non spoofed firmware and create my boot disk ect. I wonder if i could then just swap the relevant files in iprep with my modified firmware....hmmm, lol probaly going to blow myself and my drive to pieces lol. What do you think of that though ? Could i do this ? Ie swap the firmware on my bootable usb to one that i want to use ?

Well to be honest mate thats what I was thinking... I'm sure I've read on here somewhere that someone spoofed their firmware when they purchased a replacement drive and then just swapped the firmware over in the iprep folder before flashing... I'll see if I can dig the thread out mate :)

Here you go mate... I think you'll need to rename your firmware but read this thread here :)

Cheers for the quick reply on this mate. I will be doing this tonight sometime. I will report back so it may be help for others in future. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Thanks again for the help Mx

No worries... I'm sure you'll get it sorted mate :) ....do post back though cos like you say it will be a handy point of reference to any others needing to complete the same task :)

Good Luck :)

Im dying for a piss so this will be brief....post back if you have any Q's

You have the key from your Hitachi right?

iPrep doesnt support any spoofing, it jsut prepares the bootable device.....

If you have the original Hitachi Drive Key, or the original firmware dump (was.bin usually) then.....

Any questions ask!

If you ave modded 360's before you know the importance of not flashing without a valid drive key!

Worked a treat. I simply did as above renamed my newly spoofed firmware to BenQ-CFW.bin. Then created a folder. In my case it was named 1234567 then inside that folder it was 12345. Inside that final folder i put my firmware. It worked 1st time without issue.
Just to be clear my folder structure looker like
'boot device/backups/1234567/12345 - then my BenQ-CFW.bin in that folder. Flash as normal using command Fben. Fantastic job guys. Thanks for all the input and help.

 Nice one mate... glad you got it sorted :)
