play videos via usb on xbox 360?

have you tried it mate?

do you have the divx code installed? are you on live?

what you need to do is, connect to live like normal on the dash.

then put a divx film on the usb pen or on a cd

go to media blade on the dash, go to video and go to your cd or usb

there you will see a list of films on your media.

try to play one, if it needs the code, it will automatically download it from the net then you should be able to play divx movies

Cheers m8, i dont think i have the divx code installed on the 360 but i am on live, i have a modded 360 would it affect it if i tried to download the codec?

As long as you are not banned you can get the codec, just make sure you don't have a back up in the dvd tray when you connect.

No mate...I have 3 modded consoles and all of them were fine when downloading the codecs from live just download a very small avi or stick one you already may have on your memory stick then connect to live and it will say you require an update so just accept it and then if you're one of the non-live paranoid users just disconnect from live until next time you require an update
