Ok Lads need some of your expert advice as I aint got a clue.

I may want a media player for main TV in the next month or so and I'm just looking around for ideas at the moment.

I want a media player that will play everything I chuck at it. mkv, avi, iso,s everything

I want to be able to hardwire it or use homeplugs so rj45 connection needed.

I want it to be able to view files from a western digital networked drive as well as external usb drives and pc.

HDMI 1.3 as well as 1.4 compatible. usb, RJ45, wireless? good support, maybe custom firmwares etc

Dont know whether to go for android? would I be able to install BT sport app on it if I went android then watch games using bT sport. i aint too bothered about online stuff as long as it makes a good job of playing stuff I download.

I would have bought this but it seems to have problems playing divx

Another vote for WDTV, not the cheapest option but its good at what it does.

I would go for the Cyclone Nano. It has a super AIO keyboard & games pad.

Does the WDTV give you art work and blurbs etc like xbmc does? I know it never used to because it was using sigma chipset and I still have one of the original icyboxes media players here and tbh they kinda suck.

WDTV and Cyclone Nano are good and cost effective, but TViX has a much better UI for your movie collections

I've been buying second hand Acer Revo for £70 to £75 off fleabay and installing Win7 + XBMC on them. Will play back everything from netflix, youtube, amazon, local media, network shares, airplay, etc
