I have no idea where to go with this one, i'm just looking for something that runs xbmc and that is capable of watching stuff off my NAS without hassle, i'm just not bothered about a Pi.
Can anyone share their expeert opinion?

Sumvision Cyclone Android x2
Sumvision Nano
Android 4

HI,

I have got a 512mb Pi for the bedroom which does the job but in the main living room have got XBMC installed on an Acer ER 1401 with Aeon skin running everything smooth from a 4Tb Nas drive, installed XBMC's onto two other friends Acer's as well. If you do not want to go that root, the Ouya looks good but will be a while to get one of those, unless you was in the kickstarter program.

I have also no issues using a RPi. It's menu handling is not the fastest but playing movies is working fine. Don't forget to buy the license for the codecs also. Best feature in my environment: My Toshiba TV forwards remote control commands via HDMI to RPI, great.

I'm pretty much in the same boat here...I got myself a microserver last month (been so lazy i havent set up yet), but I plan to make it into a media server, and want to have two devices (one in a bedroom and other in lounge) that can simply play tv shows and movies, no other fancy stuff is needed.

I've read good things about the little black box, but its kinda expensive and ppl seem to use it for other things. Anything other than a Raspberry Pi that people can recommend?
