hi guys, just bought the above media player to play my 3d sbs stuff as my revo really struggles to play these big mkv files, gutted the revo will not play them but it struggles bad with them, but if this little box can play them then the revo will be going the distance. just wondered if anybody else has 1 as all the reviews iv read on them they seem such a bargain for the money, under £30 remotes not meant to be upto much but playback is flawless across all formats from the reviews i read.

I have it, and its excellent.
Tried at mates house using 3d sbs and worked fine, also 5.1 dolby output.
Remote is crap, so i bought a 6 in 1 learning remote from 7dayshop for 35-6 and used that.
Thats remote is pre programmed for sky, and then gives other options dvd/tv/cable etc and learning facility.

Yeah i got mine this morning mate 2 mins to setup and i was watching flawless 3d sbs films 2 minutes later, what a bargain these are, read about people having signal issues with the remote but this 1 is fine, using it from about 3m away and it works everytime, even works pointing in the wrong direction. What a cracking little device it is for under 30 quid, well it looks like my 2nd revo is going up for sale soon as this sumvision is fantastic!

eh ? are you using vlc player ? mines has no issue playing anything on it matey

Yes mate i was using vlc, plays everything else fine but it wouldnt play there 15-20gb files, was just stuttering and picture break up constantly, installed the latest nvidia drivers and it was still the same so fook knows, i even put a fresh copy of windows 7 but still no joy!

plays them spot on mate, got a couple that are 25gb and over and it plays them spot on, iv seen them kicking about for the last couple years and never really took notice of them, but once the revo wasnt playing them files that was the 1st little box of tricks i thought about, and honestly its an absolute dream of a gadget, dont get me wrong the interface is as basic as they come, but its quick and plays even them big files flawlessly, im totally gobsmacked considering its about the size of a packet of tabs, and costs under £30

aye ? i got a clone 'turnmeon2' and it was pure rubbish!!! so i thought the mini may be the same but seems not i may get one then as a spare :)

I bought the cyclone MKV over two years ago great bit of kit I used to take it with me when working away from home. Then they brought out the miny it was crap, then they brought out the miny 2 what a tool I have taken mine all over the country the only problem I ever have with it is if I leave the video settings on 1080p and the digs I'm in only have scart then it takes a lot of messing to reset. My miny and a 1 terabit HDD are the most important things I put in my case.

Sorry just noticed your talking mini 2+ I am so happy with my mini 2 I never looked to see that they had updated it to mini 2+ will be now going to their web page to what the difference is mine is the size of a credit card and about 5mm thick

Will these power a 2.5 hdd? as my dvd players usb socket won't, if it does I think I'll be buying
myself one of these.

I've got 2 wd 320gb passports mine powers 1 of them but not the other m8

Thanks for the info, l'm a bit unsure if to bother with one, I think I'll wait for one that will play them reliably.

plays my 500gb buffalo 2.5 flawlessly, picks it up in about 2 secs with all files showing.

buy it from ebuyer, then if its no good and doesnt recognise your drive, which im pretty sure it should, then you can return with no hassle, same from amazon aswell, i really cant comment how good this thing is at playing allsorts of files, and it doesnt bat an eyelid, really fast load up times too...

Same as Manic I use mine with a Iomega 1Tb Portable HDD runs it no problem. I only use mine when away from home as I have the bigger MKV at home pugged into my home network and just stream films from my server.

iv just got a buffalo 1tb hard drive and it plays files perfect from it, really cant believe how cheap it is for how capable a player it is, over the moon with it!

Im well pleased to see this little jem get the recognition it deserves, used it for a while, and can say im well happy with it,normally just use it with a 32gb thunb drive and it plays everything flawlessly, nothing seems to phase it,for the price,i dont see how anybody can be without one, awesome little machine perfect for on your hols,no hd withdrawel symptoms if you have access to hd tv...best of all i got mine for £12.99,sorry cant remember where though
