Cycling North West Area (Preston)

I bought a bike on the cycle to work scheme, not to cycle to work though as its 60 mile round trip and I'm way to overweight to manage that. Wanted to increase my exercise levels really. I'm still really slow (12-13mph avg) so if anyone knows of any groups in Preston area that are this slow I would love to join in as I prefer group rather than solo efforts

It's too late for you this year but next year when you claim your bycycle to work scheme bike, maybe you should pick the electric assisted bikes. My son got one a few months back & upto now he's had 50mph out it. Great for taking the strain out of long steep hills or increasing your speed. Happy to pass on details of what bike etc.
