Hi guys,

We after 13 years I've gone and bought my rod licence and local waters book. I'm looking to buy a new real, the one I had in the box the rear wind button stapped off this morning and although I have a couple of reals and in fact somewhere in the garage a brand new abu garcia reel bought from OZ. Went to a fishing tackle shop today and was overwhelmed with the choices. Seems rear drag are out (although some still available) and lots of nice really small reals available. I don't want buy something I will be unhappy with. Not really go a budget to keep to but this one in the shop looked nice but it was £80.00 so seen in on ebay for £65.00 is the too much to spend.

Just going to be doing float fishing in the local pond. I've got access to the Wakefield book that has about 10 ponds. I've been into fishing for a lot of years but I think it was 2003 when I last went lake fishing. I lived in new zealand up until 18 months ago and bought all new rods and reals out there. I have left them over there with the inlaws. Got loads of sea gear and lake/pond rods but just need to update the reel. I got a shakespear rod in the rod bag thats never been used yet. Lifes moving too fast and this is my way of tryng to slow it down.

Wakefield :) I live close to you then :) a part of wakfield a place called Batley, I am sure you know it, well you should be ok with one of those reels 3000 size should do ya :)

Yep carlton in close thats just classed at barnsley (i think) I pass just south of there on a morning on my way into work at Grimethrope.

Well I was up early this morning 4.45am and with my new diawa whisker reel and the other new gear I had I was off to the pond. It was a really nice day but very quiet with not many people today. So four hours of fishing and into double figures with peach and roach it was a decent days fishing. All the fish where really small caught on a 2bb christal waggler and either no shot and a couple of number 6 to drop the line. Kept my bait and will be going again either tomorrow evening of one night during the week.

I got myself one of these the other month and I love it. I have used this reel for all kinds of fishing but its as smooth as silk. Float fishing and feeder fishing its perfect trust me. Not only that all my pals are keen fishermen and they have this reel as well. Will it pass the test of time? I am sure it will as I have Daiwa pit reels and have had them for years and they are still as good as new.
