Over the years I've done both fresh water & sea fishing but prefer sea fishing as the fish are better eating. The last 5 years I have fished from beach & small rib. Recently got a bigger rib & look forward to more fishing adventures. Just seeing if anyone else shares this hobby.

Used to be mad keen about going fishing about 4 -5 years ago would of went 3 - 4 times a week by myself. Not so much past few years. Brother inlaw would go regularly and has started asking me going with him. Need to get all new gear tho as its quite old and been in the shed so most of it is all ruined.

|Going on now to look at new rods now.

Best way to go with a Rib M8. I get so many blanks from shore these days that I consider giving up to be honest.

@Cressi think from shore you have to find a good spot & target a specific species. I suppose it depends on where you are & how far your willing to travel. I'm in the northwest & can fish a few places but have to travel at least an hour. Mersey estuary is ok to fish from shore especially in winter or Arnside, Heysham or Morecambe. Having a boat does improve your chances of catching as you can get into fish that are unreachable from shore. I have also fished around Harlech & around north Wales including Anglesey. A few mates have caught mackerel off bellech on Anglesey recently. Shell island campsite you can fish the estuary & get decent size bass.

Also in NorthWest M8 ( Warrington) . I like Anglesey but have blanked the last few times. Tempted to get a kayak to be honest. Got a family Kayak but not sure how to swing a fishing kayak past the missus. Seen a few go off last time I was in Harlech and looked like the way to go.
