My cucumbers died, stupid bloody weather!! tomatoes are doing a little better we have 4 types on the go.

Tamina
Black Cherry
Mezano plum
Brandy wine.

so plenty to make some nice chutney and sauce :)

Yes, the cucumbers are more delicate than tomatoes, they’re still small

Normally My tomatoes and cucumbers don’t do so well, every year it’s a hit and miss affair, some years I just get a few tomatoes some years a little more and sometimes even nothing.

So last year at the end of the season, I poured 2 buckets of chicken manure into the soil and gave it a good stir and from what I can see so far, it seems to have done the trick.

Time for an update I think, nothing else to do

The tomatoes & cucumbers have just started producing the first flowers which haven’t opened up yet and the cucumbers have started climbing by themselves

Mine are rubbish this year, grown outdoors and weather has been rubbish so plants are still half the size of them :( fingers crossed now its a bit warmer they will crack on.

Yes I have a few outside and they are ¼ the size these ones, but its only the beginning of June give them time they will soon catch up.

I read about that some years ago, it is very interesting. too old for that now, I just have a few tomatoes and cucumbers on each corner of the shed, that’s enough for me.

Pleasant surprise when I went to the shed this morning
I witnessed the miracle of life
